HR Service Partners is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for its Payroll Department. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all areas relating to payroll processing. This position will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of employee activities including payroll processing, historical and new client data, and reporting as needed for each client.

Some of the key responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for our clients.

  • Review pay computation and ensure payroll policies are following state and federal regulations.

  • Work as a team to coordinate payroll promptly for PEO clients

  • Collect, review, analyze, and enter data for clients

  • Respond to and resolve inquiries regarding paychecks

  • Create a positive customer service experience for all employees and clients

  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall department goals and objectives

  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

  • Work with the Payroll Director to ensure timely turnaround of client requests to stay on project deadlines

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department

  • Support Payroll Director with special projects and workflow process improvements

  • Provide training as needed while keeping training documents updated

  • Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure compliance

  • Update changes in pay and tax status

  • Generate necessary reports

  • Location: In Office, San Antonio, Texas

  • Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday

  • Salary: From $45,000 per year, based on experience

Who are we?


You would be a great fit if you:

  • Have an associate degree in a related field or two years of relevant work experience

  • Have three to five years of prior experience in payroll processing (required)

  • Have multi-state payroll processing experience (required)

  • Have experience handling certified payrolls

  • Have experience working in a PEO

  • FPC or CPP preferred

  • Have strong experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required

  • Have knowledge of PrismHR Software strongly preferred

  • Have strong customer service skills

  • Are bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
